CIIC and LEAP invites you to the conference “The well-being of young people living in the Cluj Metropolitan Area”. We will present the results and proposals of the LEAP project, with the profile of the Cluj youth.

The online event will take place on Tuesday, 12 January 2021 from 1700 EET on the ZOOM platform and will be broadcast live on the Facebook pages of CIIC (https://www.facebook.com/ciiccluj) and LEAP (https://www.facebook.com/LEAPcluj).

The conference will present the results of the LEAP study and complementary studies and analyses and will focus on concrete actions that can be implemented in the short, medium and long term and on the policies that can be agreed upon by both local and metropolitan authorities and other relevant actors in the public, private and non-governmental environment through an interdisciplinary and multisectoral approach, in the context of the Urban Development Integrated Strategies and the complementary metropolitan youth strategy.

LEAP is an interdisciplinary study on evaluating the needs and opportunities of young people in Cluj. The study ran from 27 January until 30 August 2020 and used the methodology of participative evaluation to to identify the needs, gaps and opportunities of young people (aged 10-24) in the Cluj Metropolitan Area. The results, action proposals and analyses of the study are available to the public.

The LEAP project has been implemented by the Department of Public Health and the Department of Political Sciences, Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences, Babeș-Bolyai University, the Cluj Cultural Centre and the PONT Group. The LEAP Cluj project is funded by Fondation Botnar.

As a complementary part of the event, the results of the study and analysis “The Profile of the Cluj Youth” made by the Cluj Youth Federation will also be presented.


The event aims to raise awareness among stakeholders on the situation of youth in general, but also in the specific situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The event also aims to involve the stakeholders in assuming concrete actions based on the priorities defined according to the identified systemic gaps between the needs of young people and the already available opportunities.
