In the last few months, students from high schools participating in the #SchoolNews project attend mentoring sessions where they develop essential skills, find solutions, build action plans, write articles, discuss ideas related to journalism and much more.

Students from the “Emil Racoviță” National College Cluj-Napoca talked about the evolution of their school newsroom, the importance of guidance from mentors and the increasing notoriety of their media product. The young people were actively participating in mentoring sessions under the guidance of journalist Adrian Ardelean (Radio Free Europe).
Adrian described the students as extraordinarily bright and willing, but also emphasised the additional motivation of having access to technology and production equipment.
Students from the Reformed Theological High School Cluj-Napoca enthusiastically shared the satisfaction of the meticulous planning they did, the relaxation of the fun moments, the pleasant feeling of having the attention and feedback of a competent mentor, as well as advice for other high school newsrooms. Through the #SchoolNews project, PONT Group supports the development of school newspapers so that young people aged 14-18 can become more engaged, develop critical thinking and digital media literacy skills through direct involvement in content creation and accessing information created by their peers.
