András Farkas, Strategic Director of PONT Gruop was welcomed on September 11 by the European Commission’s Head of Unit for Youth, Volunteer Solidarity and Traineeships Office, Ms. Floor Van Houdt and her lovely team.
Beyond presenting the intellectual outputs of Com’On Europe Europe regarding participatory budgeting for youth in cities, we went beyond and exchanged views and approaches about the need to connect the European policies with local level practice, and about the empowerment of local communities and micro-communities of young people and the growing need to address youth as a special topic within urban development processes leading to a high quality of life of urban citizens.
PONT Group presented the steps made by Cluj and other European Youth Capitals in this sence and the pathway which still lies ahead. The prospects of additional two strategic projects approved recently within Erasmus+ and Europe for Citizens were also presented as part of our continued work in creating youth friendly cities. We are grateful for the financial support received through Erasmus+RO for our effort.
