The EU funded project between the European Union Delegation Thailand, the Goethe-Institut Thailand, Thai Civic Education Foundation and Child and Youth Media Foundation aims to sustainably facilitate a youth-led approach in rethinking urban spaces in Thailand to create inclusive cities, which allow for the participation of all stakeholders in matters that affect their present and future well-being.

With the ultimate aim of establishing a Thai-European Youth Forum on Urban Community Development, the action creates cooperative online and offline platforms for the EU and Thailand to address the growing need for the empowerment of youth as full partners and drivers of change in urban development.

Project Objectives and Related Outputs:

  • Mechanisms to empower young people to participate in shaping urban development.
  • Exchanges between youth organisations in Thailand and the EU.
  • Greater youth participation in urban development policies, youth organizations and other civil society organizations.

Three partner cities in the European Union in cooperation with the European Youth Capital network have been selected: Cluj-Napoca, Thessaloniki and Klaipeda. From public transport and infrastructure, to cultural and educational programs and democratic policy-making the European Youth Capital title invites cities across the continent to re-think how they engage with and include young people. It is crucial that young people have equal opportunity to shape the social, economic and political life of where they live.

PONT Group as partner of the project, we presented them several youth initiatives and youth organisations in Cluj between 4-5 July.

The Advisory Council on Youth, the Youth Department of the City Hall and the Cluj Youth Federation shared their experiences on the relationship between the youth, the city and decision makers. We talked to youth experts from Babeș-Bolyai University and discussed the results of the LEAP research. Our guests got to know the FIX Cluj-Napoca Innovation Fund, the Cultural Centre of Cluj and we, the PONT Group, explained our activities and projects.
